Aretha Jackson, creator of The First Call
Why I Created It

I do this work every day.

The First Call grew out of real freight prospecting — researching companies, getting through gatekeepers, finding decision-makers, calling, following up, and working to turn cold prospects into customer relationships.

I created the guide because owner-operators are often taught how to haul the freight, but not how to build the sales habits that can help them create their own pipeline of potential customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before you make the first call.

Does the e-book give me dedicated lanes or a shipper list?

No. The purpose of The First Call is to teach you how to research potential customers and build your own prospecting process rather than depend on a one-time list.

Is this only for owner-operators?

Owner-operators and small carriers are the primary audience, but the research, outreach, cold-call, and follow-up principles can also be useful to someone supporting a carrier’s sales efforts.

Does buying the e-book guarantee freight or contracts?

No. This is an educational resource. Results depend on your market, equipment, authority, pricing, outreach, follow-up, service, and the needs of each shipper.

What if I want hands-on help after I read it?

You can continue into the Finding Freight Course (coming soon) or 1-on-1 Mentorship for additional support putting the prospecting process into practice.
